The professionals at Accord Capital provide sensible advice and
practical solutions to complicated business decisions. We bring a blend of operating
expertise and Wall Street experience to our clients. We have a track record of success
with clients in a wide array of corporate finance and strategic consulting issues.
Transaction experience.
Our principals have a broad range of experience in investment banking, including mergers,
acquisitions, recapitalizations, leveraged buyouts, divestitures, management buy-outs,
private placements, capital investments and other corporate finance activities. We
understand the technical aspects of these complex business decisions, and the personal and
operating business demands they place on you.
Depth of industry knowledge.
We recognize that corporate finance work cannot be done in the abstract. For those in the food,
specialty retail and business service industries we have extensive knowledge of the
material economic trends and industry specific issues. In sectors within these industries
we also know the people and have the relationships that add value.
Senior level staffing. You
will be working with the same seasoned team you first meet. Larger firms often bring out
the gray-haired partners for the client pitch, and the fresh faced business school grads
for the work. From start to finish, you will work with the principals of Accord Capital.
 Martin
Kupferman, a skilled entrepreneur, co-founded Pasqua Coffee, a retail business with sixty
units. He spent 15 years along with his partner building this company to prominence in San
Francisco, Los Angeles and New York until 1999 when, as the Companys CEO, he played
a hands-on role in executing its sale to well-known industry leader, Starbucks. He
negotiated the transaction and successfully met a number of difficult closing conditions,
which included securing many third-party agreements. Prior to his work as an entrepreneur,
his experience with one of the worlds leading accounting and consulting firms
provided the foundation of expertise he needed to see this and other transactions through
to fruition.
Kupferman's consulting career began as a management advisor
with Coopers and Lybrand, where he assisted clients in identifying potential acquisition
targets in various industries. He resides in the San Francisco area with his wife and two
young children. He holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin
and an MBA in finance from the University of British Columbia.
While co-authoring Slowth: The Changing Economy and How You
Can Cope Successfully (John Wiley & Sons), Kupferman discovered that he had a
talent for writing and a desire to write more extensively about business, finance and
economics. He now makes time to write about issues facing business owners and how they can
be successful in the world of M&A transactions.
